Sharing Pro+ with a household member

One Pro+ bill covers two accounts — how to set it up, what happens when sharing ends.

What it is

Pro+ for two extends your Pro+ entitlement to one household member — they get the full proactive Coach (Adaptive TDEE, daily brief, plateau detector, voice journal, curated memory, nudges, AI weekly plan generation) without a second subscription.

You stay the payer. The add-on attaches as a second item on your existing Pro+ subscription — same billing cycle, same payment method, one invoice.

How to set it up
  1. Both of you sign up. Your household member needs their own Honedly account before you can grant them a seat. They can register at /register like any other user.
  2. Subscribe to Pro+. Head to Settings → Billing and check out at the Pro+ tier. (Monthly or yearly — the household add-on follows whichever cadence you pick.)
  3. Create a household. Open Profile → Preferences → Household, pick a household name, and invite the other person by email. Households also share a pantry and grocery list — that part's free for everyone.
  4. They accept the invite. Your invitee gets an email with a confirmation link. Once they click it they're in your household — still on Free, but eligible to receive a Pro+ seat.
  5. Grant the Pro+ seat. Back at Settings → Billing, the “Add household member” button now appears under your Pro+ summary. Pick them from the list. Stripe adds the +$5/mo (or +$50/yr) item to your subscription on the next invoice.
  6. That's it. Within a minute their entitlement flips to Pro+ — the daily brief, Adaptive TDEE banner, plateau detector, and all the other Pro+ surfaces light up on their dashboard. They see a small “Covered by …” banner on their billing page so they know where the seat came from.
When sharing ends
  • You remove the seat: the beneficiary keeps Pro+ until the end of the current billing period, then drops to Free. Their data stays intact.
  • You cancel Pro+ entirely: both of you keep Pro+ through the current period, then both drop to Free.
  • The beneficiary leaves the household: the seat auto-cancels and they drop to Free immediately. You stop paying the +$5/mo add-on at the next invoice.
  • A payment fails: Stripe retries on its normal dunning schedule. Both accounts keep Pro+ until the subscription enters “past due” — same behavior as a solo subscription.
Common questions
Can I share with more than one person?

Not today — one seat per Pro+ subscription. If you need more, every additional household member can subscribe to Pro+ directly.

Do the two accounts share data?

Only the household-level surfaces: pantry, grocery list, and shared meal plans. Meals, workouts, goals, weight, sleep, Coach memory, voice journals — all of it is per-account. Your accounts stay independent.

Can the beneficiary upgrade themselves separately?

While they're covered by your seat, no — the checkout returns a 409 so they don't get double-billed. If you remove the seat, they can subscribe directly any time.

Is the add-on prorated?

Yes. Stripe charges a prorated amount on the next invoice covering the time between adding the seat and the end of your current period. Same when you remove the seat — you get a prorated credit, but the beneficiary keeps Pro+ until the period ends.

Can I switch between monthly and yearly without losing the seat?

Yes. Changing your Pro+ cadence from Settings → Billing also moves the household add-on to the matching cadence. The beneficiary's entitlement is uninterrupted.
